GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Jamestown 1607 currently contracts grounds services through Virginia Grounds Landscaping.

Groundskeepers perform regular mowing, fertilizing, and leaf removal in all common areas, front yards, and unfenced backyards. They also prune and fertilize trees and shrubs in the common areas (i.e. along London Company Way, Clubhouse and pool areas, mailbox areas, and islands between development sections). To make their job easier and minimize landscaping mishaps, please take the following into account:

1. Flower beds need to be defined. To protect your flowers and plants from being inadvertently disturbed, please place a border and/or mulch around plantings.

2. Landscapers will not cut lawns that have toys, debris, or dog waste present. Please pick up all dog waste and any personal items from your lawn/yard in the front and back (if open). This includes items along a fence line as well.

3. If you are aware of any cables or utility lines that are above ground, please mark them with a flag so that they are not severed by accident. When they are in tall grass they can be difficult to see.

Homeowners (or their tenants) are responsible for keeping all trees, shrubs, and other plants located on their private property weeded, trimmed, and healthy-looking. Homeowners are also responsible for keeping siding, windows, porches, decks, and sidewalks free of algae, mildew, trash and other debris. Trimming of overhanging tree branches and removal of limbs that fall due to age or weather are the responsibility of the individual property owner.
