SPECIAL PROJECTS

 

Throughout the year, the HOA Board recruits community volunteers to help with a variety of special projects. If you would like to help out with an upcoming project, please email the Board

 

PROPOSED PROJECTS  (Contingent on funding)

  • Installation of bench at school bus stop

  • Installation of bike rack at school bus stop

  • Installation of new playground equipment

  • Installation of a Little Free Library (homeowner donations)

  • Repaving of the parking lot in Section A

  • Installation of additional pet waste stations (JCC grant)

  • Installation and monitoring of bluebird and bat houses in the common areas (Scout project)

  • Development of a Social Committee to promote neighborhood activities

PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2021

  • Completed a professional Neighborhood Reserve Study to determine both maintenance needs and available funds

  • Applied for and received a JCC Good Neighbor Grant

  • Established a Governing Documents Review Committee

  • Established a Neighborhood Beautification Committee

  • Expanded the Architectural Review Committee to include non-Board homeowners

  • Replaced the 45-year-old front entrance sign

  • Cleaned and repaired the front entrance pillars

  • Begun re-imagining/re-landscaping the front entrance area (JCC grant)

  • Repaired the damaged Clubhouse foundation

  • Repaired the damaged Clubhouse walkway

  • Replaced the damaged Clubhouse roof

  • Repaired the damaged pool deck; replaced broken pipes and pumps to improve energy efficiency and pool cleanliness

  • Installed new backboards/nets on the basketball court

  • Replaced bulbs in HOA-owned lamp posts and contacted Dominion Power to replace bulbs in utility-owned poles

  • Cleaned out blocked runoff grates and placed landscape rock to facilitate drainage around A, B, and D section storm drains

  • Removed deadfall and damaged trees in A, B, and D sections

  • Completed a third annual Neighborhood Litter Cleanup

  • Scheduled a special Fall Cleanup for November 6th

  • Negotiated a new landscaping contract (effective 2022)

  • Strategized with property management professionals about how to complete future projects in the most efficient and effective ways possible (including repair of drainage issues, completion of a VDOT speeding mitigation plan, revitalization of the Clubhouse interior, repaving of A section, landscaping of common areas, replacement of playground equipment, installation of bike racks, benches, and more!)

PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2020

  • No formal litter cleanup due to COVID-19 restrictions

  • Repair of damaged mailboxes in Section C

  • Patching of potholes in Section A

PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2019

  • Second annual Neighborhood Litter Cleanup

  • Repair of collapsed drainage pipes along London Company Way

  • Removal of rotting and hazardous playground equipment

PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2018

  • First annual Neighborhood Litter Cleanup

  • Planted four trees and 400+ flowering bulbs in common areas 

  • Removed dead trees in common areas

  • Installed two pet waste stations (JCC grant)

  • Sealed and striped parking bays in sections B, C, and D

To contact the property management company directly, please visit their website. You can also reach them during normal business hours by calling (757) 599-3335. 

Renters with maintenance, lease, or payment questions should contact the owner of their unit or their rental management company directly. The Association Manager does not handle renter inquiries and will be unable to address your concerns.

(757) 253-1800. For medical, fire, and police emergencies dial 911.
